CheckVir does on-demand and on-access detection and removal tests based on viruses listed on the Wildlist only.
There are two different certification levels:
Standard Level: Only the virus detection is examined. The AV software products have to find all of tested virus samples.
Advanced Level: Virus detection and cleaning capability is examined. Anti-virus products have to accomplish the conditions of Standard Level and they have to repair all of infected objects restoring the original status.
The products that are usually tested by CheckVir are: AVG, Bullguard, CA, ESET, McAfee, Panda, Symantec, TrendMicro.
