Second Half-Year Results of the 2025 Consumer Real-World Protection Test Now Available

In this round, 19 popular security solutions were examined under real attack conditions. The test recreated genuine infection scenarios to measure how effectively each program blocked active threats before any unwanted changes could be made to the system. To give a complete picture of everyday usability, a full false-positive test was also performed. Products that produced too many false alarms received adjusted award ratings, which reflects our focus on accurate and dependable performance in daily use.

The programs evaluated in the second half of 2025 are the same as those assessed earlier in the year. The list includes Avast Free Antivirus, AVG Antivirus Free, Avira Free Antivirus, Bitdefender Total Security, ESET HOME Security Essential, F-Secure Internet Security, G Data Total Security, K7 Total Security, Kaspersky Premium, Malwarebytes Premium, McAfee Total Protection, Microsoft Defender Antivirus, Norton Antivirus Plus, Panda Free Antivirus, Quick Heal Total Security, TotalAV Antivirus Pro, Total Defense Essential Antivirus, Trend Micro Internet Security, and VIPRE Advanced Security.

Several products showed particularly strong results and reached the highest award level, ADVANCED+. These solutions demonstrated reliable protection against a wide range of current threats with a low rate of false positives.
