Parental Control Certification 2020
AV-Comparatives provides certification for parental control software. Parental control solutions are tested against 2,000 URLs with undesirable content in different categories, and 200 child-safe URLs. In order to be certified, a product must block at least 98% of pornographic websites, have no more than a few false alarms on child-friendly websites, and have no severe unresolved bugs (or design flaws) discovered during the review.

Consumer Summary Report 2019
Austrian antivirus testing lab AV-Comparatives has released its Summary Report consumer security products (PDF available here). This includes results of all the individual tests carried out during the year, a user-interface review for all 16 tested products, and awards given to individual programs in various different categories.

Parental Control Certification Test 2019
AV-Comparatives provides certification for parental control software. In order to be certified, a product must block at least 98% of pornographic websites, have no more than a few false alarms on child-friendly websites, and have no severe unresolved bugs (or design flaws) discovered during the review. A certification is valid for one year and vendors can apply for certification once a year. Six vendors submitted their products for certification in 2019, of which only one reached the requirements.

Every year we publish the results of our phishing protection certification test. These tests evaluate the protection provided against phishing websites. These deceptive websites can pose a real threat to Internet users, as they attempt to steal sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details.
