Information

Avira was Founded in 1986, and has its headquarters in Tettnang, Germany.

The company was acquired by NortonLifeLock in 2021, but the parent company continued to make Avira-branded software. Since November 2022, the brand is owned by GenDigital.

The company produces software for home users and businesses, covering Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Android platforms.

Avira joined AV-Comparatives’ Main Test Series at the very beginning, in 2004.
